Background of Chowhali upazila

No specific information is available on the naming of Chowhali Upazila. This land was a big market for Pakrashi zamindars. In this market, milk of 04 sera was sold as 01 sera. In other words, 60 tola equal to 01 sera but equal to 01 sera of land pakrashi 60x40 = 320 tola was sold as 01 sera. It is believed that the name of Chowhali upazila has been given from here. Chowhali Thana was established in 1904. A police camp was established at Chowhali in 18 and later the police camp was upgraded to a police station in 1904.
